CompuTec WMS: Pick and Pack

As of the latest version of CompuTec WMS – 2.10.22 R2, there is now support for the Pick and Pack process.

Pick and Pack is a fulfilment process during which Items are selected or “picked” from the warehouse and then “packed” into a container for shipping or to be transferred to another internal location such as another warehouse or the production line.

The Pick and Pack and Production Manager is a tool that supports the pick and pack process by generating Pick Lists based on a variety of SAP Business One documents:

1. Sales Orders;

2. A/R Reserve Invoices;

3. SAP Business One Production Orders;

4. Inventory Transfer Requests.

The warehouse operatives can view these Pick Lists on their CompuTec WMS mobile device and record the picking and subsequent packing of the Items listed there.

The user can search and filter existing Pick Lists from CompuTec WMS to find the Pick List they will process. How Pick Lists are displayed in CompuTec WMS can be customized for each warehouse or user.

There is the option to preallocate Items on the Pick List so that the warehouse operative is informed of exactly which Bin Location, Batch Number, or Serial Number they should pick up the inventory. You can also block the user from picking Items from elsewhere if necessary.

The database is updated automatically as Items are picked. This means that several operatives can pick Items from one Pick list simultaneously. The system will be updated in real time so that the entire team will be aware of the current state of progress at all times.

Picked Items can be added to a storage unit. This can be a new Storage Unit created during the pick and pack process or an existing Storage Unit that contains one or more Items from the Pick List. You can see it on the display when a Storage Unit is in packing mode. It is also possible to complete the Pick and Pack process without placing picked items in a Storage Unit at all.

You can find more details about Pick and Pack in our documentation.

You can also see how it works in this short demonstration video.
